Under the Cross (Cox Green school Christian Union)
God has a supernatural provision for every child to receive the love, acceptance, guidance, forgiveness and healing required to live a fulfilled life, regardless of their past – they just need to know about it. Working in schools gives us the privilege of sharing this truth with children who may otherwise never get to hear it, enabling them to make their own mind up about God. Under The Cross provides a relaxed environment where students can ask questions, debate topics and pray.
If you can change what a child believes about themselves and believes about their future you can change the direction of their life. Romans 12 puts it "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing ofyour mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
God has planted a huge potential in every child, regardless of their background or where they have come from. Whatever the circumstance God’s love can heal the deepest of wounds and restore a sense of value and purpose to a child.
God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
The aim of taking the Gospel into schools and talking about the reality of having a relationship with God and what it means to live a spiritual life from the inside out, is that will enable children, who may otherwise never hear the God News, make their own mind up about God and whether they want to know him more.
